Inkjet institute moves to expanded premises

Inkjet research body Institute for Printing (iPrint) has moved to expanded premises.

iPrint is active in the field of digital printing with a focus on inkjet technology. As a research partner to industry, it contributes to technological innovation in terms of processes and methods, instrumental development and advanced materials. The institute is part of the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland (HES-SO).

In its second move in two years, iPrint has outgrown its incubation space at blueFACTORY and has moved into 1,200 sqm of lab space at the Marly Innovation Center in Switzerland.

As well as the graphic arts, iPrint leads projects in the functional print areas of additive manufacturing, biomedical and printed electronics.

The new premises house four million EUR (4.46 million USD) of dedicated printer platforms and laboratory analytical equipment; within the new facility is a permanent Inkjet Training Center offering courses to participants from a wide range of markets and industrial sectors. 25 permanent staff are augmented by several students studying for their master’s thesis.
