The company is also considering investing in a wide web width flexo press and is in the process of evaluating between Weigang and Multitec for next installation at its factory in Kolkata.

Primarily into printing garment labels, Interact Texlabels ventured into product labeling earlier this year with a new 5-color Weigang UV flexo press. The company now houses three flexo presses each from Apex Rototech and Weigang alongside one 2-color flexo press from Jandu Engineering. The flexo floor is complemented with a fleet of finishing equipment such as core cutting, die-cutting machines, slitting and rewinding machines, video plate mounter and an inspection system.

Anurag Mohan, director at the company, said: ‘We are concentrating on volume blank and coated labels and have just started with commodity labels. We are being selective and targeting paint, lubricant oil, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.’

While Interact Texlabels converts 100,000 to 150,000 square meters of label stock every month for bar codes and product labels to cater to the Indian market, it prints 300,000 to 350,000 square meters of blank and colour labels each month for garment factories and exports to Egypt, Middle East, Kenya, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

‘We are now looking at Middle East for starting a warehousing facility and later may evaluate a manufacturing unit in that region too,’ Mohan said.

The company is also expanding its production space with a new facility of 10,000 sq. ft. in Kolkata that has been booked at Srijan Industrial Logistics Park. Growing at a rate of 25 percent year-on-year, the company achieved a turnover of about 2 million USD (Rs 14 crore) in 2014-15 financial year.
