IST Metz to open new headquarters

IST Metz is to use the forthcoming UV Days 2015 event to mark the completion of the construction project to expand its production facilities.

The new building in Fabrikstrasse is now complete and, coinciding with the in-house UV Days exhibition on June 15-18, the factory will officially be opened

IST Metz has been headquartered at a site in Zizishausen, Nürtingen for 30 years but the new building on nearby Fabrikstrasse has been brought about by the company’s continued expansion over the years.

In November 2013, a start was made on demolishing the old factory on Fabrikstrasse, which used to be a warehouse for local members of the IST Metz group, with the aim to construct a larger and more modern building in just 18 months.

The Fabrikstrasse building is now complete and, coinciding with the in-house UV Days exhibition on June 15-18, the factory will officially be opened.

The building will host UV Days 2015, with 2,000 sq m of exhibition space dedicated to the in-house exhibition covering UV technology, which is expected to attract around 700 international guests.

Group companies S1 Optics and gerhard metz metallbau are also to move into the three-storey, 4,900 sq m building to increase their production areas, along with IST Metz.

The new building features a number of elements related to increased energy efficiency, including a photovoltaic array on the roof to generate solar electricity that was used in the final stages of construction and will supply the plant with electricity in the future.
