IST Metz opens sales office in Japan
IST Metz is to open a new sales office in Tokyo on April 1 as it looks to expand its presence in Asia.
Following the successful establishment of subsidiaries in China in 2010 and Thailand in 2011, the company is set to further explore the East Asian market. IST East Asia K.K. is the 10th international subsidiary of IST Metz, with six in Western Europe, a company in the US and those in in China and Thailand.
The main focus of the new IST Metz operation in Japan will be to attract new clientele from outside the graphics industry.
Markus Thinnes will head up IST East Asia K.K., and brings 17 years of experience working in the Japanese printing sector, five of which have been spent at IST Metz. Thinnes will initially be joined by one colleague who will be responsible for technical services.
Thinnes said: ‘We will have access to both the Japanese and Korean markets from our Tokyo base, whose close technological and economic ties go beyond the print sector.’
‘Demand in Asia continues to grow and we thus came to the decision to further expand our presence here,’ added Dirk Jägers, managing director of IST Metz GmbH.
