Featuring two lines, one each for thin and thick specialty films, the planned polyester plant will have capacity for 65,000 metric tons of film, with start-up expected in early 2019. It will be located at the company’s headquarters in LaGrange, Georgia, costing around 120 million USD.

Jindal Films America has recently added a new metallizer in LaGrange, itself part of a relocation and expansion project of its facilities in Georgia. This doubles the capacity of Jindal Films America.

Marcelo Passos, executive vice president and CEO of Jindal Films America, said: ‘We are very excited to introduce the plans to expand our capabilities into polyester film in the America.’

Jindal Films Europe is reportedly considering similar expansion in its region.
