This year’s show marks the 25th anniversary of Labelexpo Americas, and promises an enlarged focus on package printing and the brand owner.

Labelexpo Americas 2014 is to debut the Package Printing Workshop, with Xeikon and Delta Industrial hosting an educational workshop designed to highlight how label printers can diversify and grow their businesses.

Also debuting at Labelexpo Americas 2014 are the Inkjet Trail and the Craft Beverage Day. The Inkjet Trail will put inkjet press manufacturers in the limelight as they use their respective technologies to each produce otherwise identical label designs. Featuring Domino, Durst, EFI, Epson and Screen USA, they will all receive the same origination for a food, personal care and industrial label and, using the same paper, film and foil substrates provided by Avery Dennison, FLEXcon and UPM Raflatac, show attendees will be able to collect samples and compare the results for themselves. The Craft Beverage Day is a dedicated workshop specifically for craft breweries, wineries and distilleries designed to help increase the impact of a beverage’s label in retailing. The day will give delegates the chance to increase their understanding of all aspects of label production, from materials used, the machinery involved, adhesives and the latest design trends.

The Smart Mart featre area will also debut at Labelexpo Americas 2014. This will show firsthand how the latest advances in substrates, inks, digital systems and printing will forever change consumers’, retailers’ and brand owners’ perception of the purpose of labels and packaging. At Smart Mart, augmented reality, QR codes and scanners, RFID and NFC-enabled smart tags, temperature indicating packaging and films that prevent food spoilage will be on show.

Another key element of the show is the supporting conference program, and includes figures from across the label and package printing supply chain that will debate a host of themes including design and branding, new technologies and industry trends, and impart strategic insight into how label converters can embrace the challenges they face in their businesses.

Fundamental to the whole show are the 400-plus exhibitors that will be displaying and launching new products and technologies, and carrying out live demonstrations across the three days of the show.
