Labelexpo reflects ‘lively packaging industry’

Labelexpo Europe continues to strengthen its position as the leading trade show for label and package printing and converting technology, according to Finat, placing label printers ‘at the very heart of the lively packaging industry’.

This year’s Labelexpo Europe is on track to be the biggest in the show’s history, with nine halls housing more than 650 exhibitors – 100-plus of which are new – showcasing developments for the label and package market. This year’s show also marks 25 years of partnership between Labelexpo and Finat.

Finat noted that the transformation of Labelexpo Europe, from a self-adhesive labeling event to an established global trade show covering a much broader spectrum of labeling and package printing and converting technology, reflects the changing shape of the industry in terms of imaging technologies – particularly digital print – and packaging styles, such as flexible pouches, shrink sleeves and IML.

This is supported by the Labelexpo Advisory Board (LAB), initially composed of management representatives from Labelexpo and Finat board members but recently expanded to include representation and input from a cross-section of exhibiting suppliers. Finat said LAB’s efforts, coupled with the first results of a long-term investment at Brussels Expo, will deliver improvements in logistics, facility management and visitor convenience for this year’s show.

Ralf Drache, director of sales and marketing at Herma and the Finat board LAB liaison, said: ‘Inspiring and supporting our industry is the greatest ambition of Labelexpo Europe. For many years now, LAB has focused on continuous improvement of this trendsetting trade show. Feedback and the expectations of both visitors and exhibitors, combined with the vision and experience of the Labelexpo Europe organization, initiate a dynamic process of creating new measures and developing ideas.’

Lisa Milburn, Labelexpo Global Series managing director, added: ‘Our collaboration with LAB undoubtedly makes Labelexpo Europe an unmissable event for label and package printing professionals. Our close working relationship helps shape serious and practical content for the show, and has driven important improvements at the show’s home, Brussels Expo.

‘LAB is very influential within the wider label community, and we are very appreciative of its ongoing support, invaluable input and expertise.’

Labelexpo Europe 2017 takes place September 25-28 in Brussels, Belgium. Online visitor registration is open.
