At the show, two orders were received from Poland, and one each from India, Spain, Romania, Africa and Middle East.

Earlier this year, Vinsak, the exclusive agent of Lombardi in India, the Middle East and Africa, installed its first Lombardi Flexoline in the Middle East at Al-Sidra in Sharjah. Diversifying into pressure-sensitive labels from being a sheet-fed printer, Al-Sidra opted for a 5-color, all UV press with a web width of 330mm. Other features include corona treater, turnbar, cold foil, delam and relam.

Vinsak has also installed an 8-color, servo-driven Synchroline press with a web width of 530mm, non-stop unwind/rewind for blister packaging, chill drums, splicing and corona treater at Bilcare, a pharmaceutical company in Bangladesh.

Masterstroke Packages, based in Nigeria, houses five Lombardi presses in its 30,000 sq ft plant, and has ordered two more Synchroline presses with a web width of 600mm each. Yaliam Press, also based in Nigeria, has ordered an 8-color Synchroline 430 for its facility, which is expected to be installed by November.

Ranesh Bajaj, director at Vinsak, noted that visitors from Africa, Dubai and Saudi Arabia showed a lot of interest in wide web machines for printing different substrates such as blisters and shrink sleeves.

Lombardi Converting Machinery claims to have a total of 135 press installations across the world.
