LumeJet selected as one of the most promising digital companies in Britain

The Pitch 10 event will be hosted at No. 10 Downing Street to highlight the impact and success emerging from the digital sector in the UK, with the British Prime Minister David Cameron having made it clear that he is ‘determined’ to make the UK the best place in the world to start and grow a company.

Pitch 10 is designed to showcase the strength of Digital Britain, and LumeJet said it is a ‘great opportunity’ to share news of recent commercial successes and product developments with FTSE 100 chief executive officers (CEOs). LumeJet is a UK-based technology company with expertise in photonic (light-based) imaging systems

A list of 10 presenting companies was selected by an independent panel of advisors representing Britain’s digital sector, and will showcase their technologies at No. 10 Downing Street on July 31.

Alongside LumeJet, these include: Certivox, a certificateless security system for web-based products; Digital Shadows, a cyber-intelligence company that protects organizations from data loss and targeted cyber-attack; DueDil, a source of free private company information in the UK and Ireland; Huddle, an enterprise content collaboration company that helps organizations across the globe to collaborate intelligently; KyKloud, which delivers integrated asset management for a mobile workforce; Mimecast, which is a cloud-based email management for Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Office 365; ROLI, which makes hardware and software products designed to increase the bandwidth of interaction between people and technology; Swiftkey, which builds technology that makes it easy for everyone to create and communicate on mobile; and Transferwise, an alternative that allows people to transfer money abroad at a lower cost than previously possible.

Paul Anson, LumeJet CEO, said: ‘It is fantastic to be selected as part of a group of fast growing and successful British digital technology companies. The growing success of high-tech manufacturing in the UK is a testament to a variety of supportive government schemes such as TSB Smart Awards for research and development funding, and the Enterprise Investment Scheme that encourages angel investment.

‘It is worth noting that LumeJet is one of only two hardware producing companies out of the group, something of a reflection on how hard it is to finance hardware start-up businesses. We believe our company is a great showcase for what can be achieved with supportive investors with a passion for growing UK high-tech manufacturing - generating deep and defensible, IP rich technology for the global market.’
