That message was delivered by Kevin McKell, vice president of sales and marketing at Vetaphone, who presented at the recent opening of Mark Andy’s new sales, service and demo facility in Warsaw, Poland.

McKell presented on the concept and science of surface treatment to Mark Andy distributors and agents from Europe, the Middle East, Asia and South America, and, while outlining the history of corona, noted that surface treatment is a technique that many converters do not understand despite knowing it is essential.

Touching on the science behind the technology, McKell stressed the importance of knowing what type of work each converter is doing or planning to do and, importantly, which substrates are involved.

‘Corona is not a “buy, install and forget” unit as it plays a vital role in print production quality and needs to be carefully specified,’ said McKell.

To support this notion he encouraged a closer liaison between Mark Andy and Vetaphone to ensure that customers enjoy the best possible service.

Mark Andy director of product management John Howard asserted that Vetaphone equipment is universally acknowledged as top quality, and that he is more than happy to fit it on any Mark Andy press.
