Mark Andy debuts two systems at Labelexpo

Mark Andy has reported a successful Labelexpo Europe. The company used the show for the global launch of its Performance Series P4 UV flexo press and for the European debut of its Digital Series press, both of which attracted packed crowds to the Mark Andy booth.

Mark Andy claims its Digital Series UV inkjet/flexo press platform is ‘the first truly hybrid system’, as the company’s own digital division integrates the UV inkjet heads into the press line – rather than using ‘off-the-shelf’ OEM digital units.

The Digital Series press was shown printing jobs integrating flexo and digital printing, foil stamping and converting with multiple die changes at speeds up to 225 ft/min (74 m/min) - thought to be the fastest hybrid machine at the show printing with these integrated processes.

The press demonstrations featured three complete job changes in ten minutes, including a substrate change. Beta sites have already been selected and are currently being installed in the US, with sights set on Europe in early 2016.

The new Performance Series P4 made its global debut. The unique feature of the full servo-driven press is its ability to accept a wide range of tooling, including, for example, existing 2200 machine tooling as well as the P-series tooling.

Kevin Wilken, president and CEO at Mark Andy, commented, ‘This year’s show was tremendous for Mark Andy.  Our Digital Series was an impressive front-runner to the many digital options shown at the exhibition. So many customers had such positive feedback about the speed, quality and versatility of the Mark Andy Digital Series, it reaffirms that our platform and technology are on target and reaching the goal of driving productivity and profitability for the converter.  I’m very proud of our dedicated team that has envisioned the right digital solution of the future.’
