Mark Andy reports successful Open House

The event at the manufacturer’s global headquarters in St Louis, Missouri at the end of March was staged with the primary objective of providing a ‘unique educational experience for converters’, and support its mission to ‘be the total solutions partner and supplier of choice offering high quality, innovative solutions that drive customer profitability’.

More than 200 attended, and during the three-day event experienced educational forums, such as a panel discussion entitled ‘Flexo and Digital – What’s the right mix?’. Three different converter-filled panels over the three days provided candid accounts of individual experiences and business models around implementation of both flexo and digital technologies.

Daily live demonstrations covered the optimization of end-to-end flexo workflows, as well as the live debut of the Mark Andy Digital Series.

Joel Carmany, president of Consolidated Label, an experienced digital print label producer and participant of the customer forums, said: ‘Overall I was very impressed with the Mark Andy digital press for the relatively short time they have been working on the project. The speed is substantially better than current offerings and the ability to install regular flexo stations before and after the digital stations is a great feature. Also since the speed is very close to flexo speeds, it will be nice to die cut in-line while avoiding an extra step in the process.’

Kevin Wilken, president and chief executive officer of Mark Andy, said: ‘We had good, informative sessions to help converters grow their business and understand technology. And the live demos allowed visitors to understand the various product lines and services, and how they might apply to their own workflows and business practices.’
