Middle East to get digital education

Printers and converters across the Middle East need to give thought to the benefits of digital printing and how it can help them tackle the challenges of the future, according to Ali Mohammad Lou, director of EFI’s agent in the region, Sarah Manufacturing.

Middle East to get digital education

Sarah Manufacturing was established in 1998 as the first ink manufacturing company in the UAE. It has since supplied offset inks to the UAE, and the greater Middle East and Africa markets.

It has now extended its activities to become the agent for Schlenk metallic inks, Chimigraf liquid inks, and True inks, as well as moving into hardware as the agent for EFI Jetrion.

Lou said the region’s understanding of digital is minimal, but there is scope to educate and inform the market, especially with the ever-increasing demand for shorter runs, and customization and personalization of print jobs.

He said: ‘As jobs get shorter and there is a growing demand for customization, so the print industry in the Middle East will need to look for ways to satisfy this requirement.

‘It’s not there yet, but they need to keep themselves informed about this process as the market changes.’

Sarah Manufacturing is exhibiting at Gulf Print & Pack 2013, which concludes today and tomorrow at the Dubai World Trade Centre, alongside EFI, where a Jetrion 4900 is being displayed complete with laser die-cutting.

Lou added that having the press running on the stand is helping to educate the region about the digital printing process.
