Nilpeter showcases flexo presses at Spanish Open House

More than 150 printers attended the five-day event, which was timed to tie-up with the Graphispag Expo being held at Fira Barcelona.

The live demonstrations at Esagraf showcased two of Nilpeter’s flagship presses, an 8-color FA-4* and an 8-color FB-3 with a flat-bed foiling unit (which can also be used for embossing), as well as equipment by Prati, GM, Nikka and Flexowash.

The demonstration of the sleeve-based FA-4* for producing high quality labels and flexible packaging featured a changeover from a 6- and 5-color job in less than three minutes, with less than 30m of waste.

The five-color wine job featured two hot foils printed by Nilpeter’s FP-4 in-line flatbed unit for value-adding hot foil and embossing.

Attendees also witnessed a fast changeover and a speed test on the FB-3, which is one of the fastest in its class. The FB-3 proved its high consistency, as it went from 0-180m/min and stopping without any movement in register.

‘It has been an intense week with more than 150 visitors from 74 label companies coming into our house,’ Esagraf director Eduardo Sa. ‘The FA-4* and the FB-3 have run perfectly, and the demos impressed the customers, so we are nothing but satisfied.’

During the evening of March 25, Esagraf also hosted a dinner for Open House visitors, which was followed by a presentation on press investment for the future, as given by Mike Fairley, director of strategic development for Labelexpo Global Series and Labels and Labeling.
