Ofru to open new site in Alzenau

Ofru Recycling is investing 3.7 million EUR in a new facility in Alzenau, Germany, located in the heart of the central Frankfurt Rhine-Main region, to strengthen its position as one of the leading technology companies in solvent recycling plants.

The start of production at the new company headquarters of Ofru Recycling in Alzenau is planned for the first quarter of 2015

Ofru has marked the start of construction at the Alzenau-North industrial estate with a ground breaking ceremony.

The first construction phase on an area of around 5,000 sq m will create an assembly hall for the production of medium-sized and small plants and a 17m high crane hall for the production of large plants. A two-storey office building will consist of an area of approximately 800 sq m for development, engineering, sales and administration.

The start of production at the new company headquarters of Ofru Recycling in Alzenau is planned for the first quarter of 2015.

The new site will also offer environmental benefits, with construction-related measures and technical building services designed to achieve a ‘high level of energy efficiency’.

As such, 100 percent of heating is to be generated using air-to-water heat pumps, with above average insulation for the building shell, façades and roof areas planned for further energy optimization.

LED lighting is to be used to halve the annual primary energy requirements in comparison with the parameters of the German Energy Savings Ordinance 2014 (EnEV 2014) – over 50 percent lower.

Ofru said these measures mean the development is considered a flagship project in the region.

Ofru managing director Denis Kargol said: ‘We have grown steadily in recent years and simply outgrown our site in Babenhausen. The city of Alzenau offers us ideal conditions as a future business location. Alzenau is innovative, future-centric and has a high quality of life.’

Deutsche Projektbau, an Alzenau-based company with nearly 40 years of construction experience, has been awarded the contract for the general planning and turnkey construction of the new facility.
