PIA selects 2013 InterTech winners

Printing Industries of America (PIA) has named its 2013 InterTech Technology Award winners, with 11 products named as winners this year.

Awards covered technologies for digital production, large format offset, flexographic plate imaging, printed product enhancements and a substrate for printed electronics, amongst others. The judges further recognized software solutions that facilitated exceptional color management, workflow for variable data printing and press training.

The technologies receiving awards are predicted to advance the performance of the graphic communications industry in many sectors.

The 11 winning technologies were: Pressero with eDocBuilder, from Aleyant Systems; Aproove, from Aproove SA; Powercoat, from Arjowiggins Creative Papers; ORIS Lynx, from CGS Publishing Technologies; GMG OpenColor, from GMG Americas; the Speedmaster XL VLF press with twin-gripper delivery and remote fan-out control, from Heidelberg USA; the HP Indigo 10000; Kodak’s Flexcel Direct System; JETvarnish 3D, from MGI Digital Graphic Technology; Scodix Metallic with Scodix Sense; and the Distributed Learning Management System, from Sinapse Print Simulators.
