Ren-Flex digital marketing manager Erika Hearnshaw is seeking to help South African brand owners expand their vision to include customized, interactive packaging and labeling.

Ren-Flex's holding company, Ren-Form, the exclusive South African agent for the Blippar augmented reality app, recently used HP SmartStream Mosaic software to create 4,000 personalized wraparound labels for an issue of PACKAGiNG & Print Media, creating exclusive interactive content for readers to learn more about the way this app can helps brands to broaden their reach beyond their packaging.

In addition, Ren-Flex has been increasingly involved in IML production in a number of staged developments over the past five years, with the introduction of digital capability being the latest stage.

The company has also invested in a new plant as part of its commitment to the IML market in South Africa. The factory is HACCP, ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000 certified and uses Treofan films, and food-grade inks and varnishes to produce IML labels.
