Rotatek predicts strong growth in the Middle East

Rotatek, a manufacturer of web-fed printing presses for the label, flexible packaging, security printing, commercial printing, folding carton, film and sleeve markets, is predicting strong growth in the Middle East, with key markets set for high levels of investment in the near future.

The Spanish company is exhibiting at Gulf Print & Pack 2015, and has used its presence to greet existing customers and meet new ones.

Bibiana Rodriguez, Rotatek chief executive officer, detailed the company’s existing install base across the MENA region, including customers in Africa, the Middle East, and further afield in India, with its Universal offset/flexo with sleeves combination press and Smartflex, an advanced modular UV flexo machine with shaftless technology, the main focus of interest on its stand.

The company is also using Gulf Print & Pack 2015 to introduce its Brava semi-rotary technology to the region’s market, which Rodriguez noted that it is having to educate the market about due to the higher initial investment cost but long-term savings owing to a reduction in spend on consumables. Security printing is another big market in the MENA region for Rotatek, and which is generating interest at Gulf Print & Pack 2015.

‘We have been able to meet with customers with whom we already have projects in development, and been able to further these,’ said Rodriguez. ‘We have also meet with some key target markets in the Middle East which are set to invest heavily in new machinery and technologies as their country’s printers look to increase the volume of work they can handle, rather than importing from Turkey and other markets.’
