Schur International acquires Burgess Printing and Packaging
Australian family owned flexible packaging and labeling manufacturer Burgess Printing and Packaging is the latest in the country’s labeling industry to acknowledge the wisdom of growth by acquisition, an announcement this week by Danish packaging specialist Schur International confirmed.
Burgess is stated has having 40 employees and a recently announced annual revenue of approximately $18 million AUS.
The acquisition adds Australia to the 15 companies in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, France and the US in which Schur already operates. Its stated objective of the takeover of Melbourne-based Burgess, according to CEO Hans Shur, is to strengthen its position in the Australian and New Zealand markets.
A statement by Jan Evans, a fifth generation Burgess Group owner, confirmed her recognition of Schur’s long-standing family values and its focus on support for its customers.
