Shiki installs two digital presses

Japanese printing machine manufacturer Shiki has installed two sets of its newly developed PJ250A UV inkjet digital press in Russia.

(L-R) Shiki press operator; Sergei Mezentcev, general director of Ogma; Boris Gin, director of Wiborg Inform; Yoko Yamasaki, Shiki.

These presses have been sold and serviced in co-operation with Shiki’s local agent Ogma, based in St. Petersburg.

The PJ250A is a 4-color CMYK digital press with chill roller and UV-LED curing at the end of the press. It is capable of printing on a wide range of substrates from papers to films without special pre-coating.

One of the converters who purchased the PJ250A is Wiborg Inform, located in the city of Vyborg, near to the Finnish border. The company specializes in the production of jewelry tags. The second customer is specialized in the production of self-adhesive labels.

Shiki says that both converters are already considering investment in a second PJ machine in the near future; one a more customized PJ press for printing jewelry tags, and another a wider PJ press better suited for packaging applications.
