Shore To Shore’s Sri Lanka facility has been awarded SA 8000 certification.  SA 8000 is an internationally recognized standard for social accountability.  It is based on a company’s commitment to sound business ethics, adherence to local and national laws, and an absolute regard for human rights.  Shore To Shore requires agreement to the same standards from its suppliers and will not knowingly enter into business relationships with any company that does not share these core values.  Sri Lanka is the first of Shore To Shore’s facilities to receive certification.

Beauno Fernando, Managing Director for Sri Lanka says, “It was a proud moment as Sri Lanka was one of the first facilities at Shore To Shore to obtain this certification.  It was also a fitting achievement since Sri Lanka has always maintained the highest standards possible at every level of employer-employee relationships.  Shore To Shore President & CEO, Howard Kurdin, restates the company's commitment to obtaining SA8000 certification, "Social Accountability 8000 is a global standard for improving working conditions around the world. The certificate provides an assurance of good social responsibility practices to consumers, buyers, and other companies - protecting the Shore To Shore reputation."
