Although this will be the first installation of an Etirama press by M-Tech, the press manufacturer already has 10 presses installed in the Indian market.

Rajapandian, owner of Sree Labeltech, visited the Etirama factory in Brazil to inspect his press and cleared it for dispatch. The 10in-wide, all UV, 6-color press runs at a maximum speed of 100m/min. ‘The press prints extremely sophisticated labels for the liquor, food and cosmetics industries in special substrates,’ said Rajapandian.

Based in Coimbatore, the printer along with M-Tech Print Solutions intends to organize an Open House after the press is installed.

N Abu, director and business head at M-Tech Print Solutions, confirmed that two more Etirama presses are in the pipeline for the Indian market.

Francisco Andrade, who handles international business at Etirama, claimed that the company manufactures nearly 80 presses every year. ‘Modular presses form 83 percent of Etirama’s total production today. The company has around 70 percent market share in Brazil in the narrow web segment and over 1,000 flexo presses installed in more than 40 countries.’

Etirama’s export has been steadily increasing and is expected to go up to 75 percent by the end of 2015. ‘Export is increasing and all our production hours for this year have been sold. The increase of dollar against the Brazilian Real gave us a competitive edge against other machine manufacturers,’ said Andrade. ‘Until last year, Latin America was a major market for us. This year, however, we exported our first press to Spain and Iran, first modular press in South Africa after four years, one to India, in addition to some others to usual Latin American customers.’

Though Etirama claims to have grown at 15 percent in the 2014-15 financial year, the forecasted growth for the next year is nine percent.
