‘Our narrow web, tag and label customers are looking for solutions that will enhance productivity, improve pressroom performance, and help packaging pop off the shelf,’ said Charles Murray, president, North American Inks, Sun Chemical.

‘During Labelexpo Americas, we’re taking our customers from concept to consumer by showcasing our full range of solutions for the marketplace. Customers can count on us not only for inks and coatings, but also for color management, plates, brand protection and more. We strive to be a partner our customers can turn to for any need they may have.’

Visitors to the stand were introduced to the Solaris System, a complete line of inks, consumables and coatings designed to meet all the printing needs of all narrow web and packaging printers.

The full range includes products for virtually all narrow web applications, from self-adhesive and in-mold labels to wrap arounds, shrink sleeves, tubes, and food and pharmaceutical packaging. The global series of inks can be tailored to a printer’s specific needs no matter what substrate is utilized including: films, foils, papers, pressure-sensitive papers, plastics, vinyl, top-coated polyethylene, polypropylene and more.

The company also demonstrated how its electronic materials options can help make packages and objects communicate, engage consumers, manage inventory systems and provide brand authentication solutions.

‘Brand owners and converters are increasingly inquiring about printed electronics on packaging,’ said Roy Bjorlin, global commercial director, electronic materials, Sun Chemical. ‘We have had some serious discussion around solutions that can help meet their individual needs to enhance the consumers’ experience through innovative packaging solutions. We’re going to demonstrate how our customers can benefit from our practical solutions for electronic packaging during Labelexpo.’

T+Sun, a partnership between Sun Chemical and T+Ink, offered new packaging technologies at the Smart Mart booth. Smart Mart was a new feature at the show, displaying label technology of the future. T+Sun also presented at Sun Chemical’s booth and demonstrated Touchcode, an imbedded code that activates a range of options, including security and web interaction, when touched to a smart device. ‘Touchcode is a great first step to engaging an interaction with consumers,’ Bjorlin said.

‘We’re offering more than just conductive inks; we’re able to give brand owners a chance to interact with consumers in a way that has never been done before.’
