Following the PEFC Chain of Custody certification of its cellulose pulp, coated paper, and uncoated paper mills and the extension of this certification to all its merchants and subsidiaries, Torraspapel, part of the Lecta Group, has now achieved Chain of Custody certification of its specialty paper and self-adhesive mills. With this action, all nine of the group’s manufacturing sites now hold PEFC certification, and its entire range of products – pulp, coated paper, uncoated paper, carbonless, thermal, cast-coated, metalized and self-adhesive – is covered by this certification. Furthermore, PEFC multi-site certification enables Torraspapel’s distributors and sales offices to guarantee the traceability of the products they sell, meaning that the wood used in manufacturing the pulp and paper comes from responsibly managed forests.

Torraspapel has obtained PEFC multi-site certification for all of its production, in addition to FSC multi-site certification for the production of coated paper, uncoated paper, and cellulose pulp. Before the end of 2008, FSC certification is scheduled to be extended to the specialty paper and self-adhesive factories.

In addition to PEFC and FSC Chain of Custody forest certifications, all Torraspapel mills hold ISO 9001 certification and ISO 14001 environmental certification, and before the end of 2008 all will have European EMAS environmental certification.
