UPM Raflatac debuts solventless adhesive and advances Label Life

UPM Raflatac debuted its high-tack RX 15 adhesive for durable goods, electronics and automotive labeling applications typically demanding solvent-based adhesives. RX 15 reduces the environmental impacts of labels with reduced energy consumption, water usage and carbon emissions used to produce the product.

Additionally, the supplier introduced Vanish, a 23 micron thin PET-based facestock material to the European market. The material provides converters and end users with the no-label look. Attendees can watch a live demonstration of Vanish on the UPM Raflatac stand.

UPM Raflatac’s Label Life LCA software introduced at Labelexpo Europe 2013 has continued to grow in adoption in the last two years. The supplier today has data accessible for more than 600 material constructions that its team can use to provide environmental footprint data to customers and end users. The next evolution of the system is to collect and provide data around the environmental positives, or savings of ecosystem units like plant life and clean water, to share with the value chain.

UPM Raflatac also launched FIT paper, a PEFC certified label material.
