Who and what to see at the leading label and package printing trade show
Uteco and QuadTech have reached an agreement to demonstrate the benefits of the latest color management technology at the Italian’s manufacturer’s headquarters outside of Verona.
From mid-September, QuadTech’s ColorTrack and Color Measurement with DeltaCam will be featured at Uteco’s ConverDrome technology demonstration facility.
QuadTech’s ColorTrack, new color management software for flexo and gravure packaging applications, is described an ‘highly adaptive color expert in a box solution’ for packaging printers. With a variety of options for handheld and in-line configurations, the software facilitates fast, accurate press-side correction of ink formulations, it is claimed. Without any hardware modifications to the press, ColorTrack automates the process of delivering consistency from press-to-press, shift-to-shift and plant-to-plant, according to QuadTech. With the optional InkWeigh, press operators can view and weigh ink recipes received from the formulation software to easily make press-side corrections.
Color Measurement with DeltaCam permits advanced, in-line spectral measurement to individual packaging print houses, through accurate, automated L*a*b* measurement on film, paper or board, at a claimed price point around half the cost of other in-line systems. The M1, M0, ISO compliant technology enables printers to reduce time and waste while maintaining color throughout the roll, without the need to wait for a roll change to measure with a handheld device.
QuadTech president Karl Fritchen said: ‘We could not be more pleased to join forces with one of the most technologically innovative companies in the flexographic and rotogravure printing industries
‘Uteco’s reputation and commitment to forward-thinking research and development is perfectly aligned with QuadTech’s efforts to bring new cost efficiencies and powerful color management solutions to the market.’
Both Uteco and QuadTech are exhibiting at Labelexpo Europe 2017, with Uteco's in-house 'Gravure Technology Meets Innnovation' event scheduled for September 28-29..
