Veredelungsgesellschaft mbH fr Papiere u. Folien & Co. KG (VPF), manufacturer of special self-adhesive materials and also service provider for coatings, recently ordered a hotmelt coating and lamination line from Maschinenfabrik Max Kroenert GmbH & Co. KG, Hamburg.

Besides the standard hotmelts (composition rubber adhesives), VPF will also be able to process UV-linked hotmelts. Compared with the dispersion acrylates and solvent adhesives already offered by VPF for several applications, this adhesive will offer clear advantages such as resistance to humidity, ultraviolet rays, and temperature resilience.  The capacity of VPF is enhanced by this meaningful investment in adhesive technology with considerable potential for further innovation.

The facility offers a maximum coating width of 1,260 mm and a maximum speed in the medium range. Thus VPF is optimally equipped for the speciality provider with a tendency towards small or medium batch sizes, with frequent changes of materials. The coating-head is manufactured by Nordson, Lneburg.

‘We are convinced that this is a good step to further develop VPF's position as a flexible provider of special self-adhesive materials with a wide range of applications, to the advantage of our customers, at home, and abroad. We now offer the three essential adhesive technologies for extremely different applications regardless of the desired print carrier or release-liner,’ said the management of VPF.
