At Labelexpo Europe 2017, Durst will present its new Tau 330 RSC high-speed UV inkjet label press configured with in-line Omet XFlex X6 conventional finishing options.

Tau 330 RSC is a UV inkjet label and package printing press featuring a 330mm print width combined with a print speed of up to 78 linear m/min

Tau 330 RSC is a UV inkjet label and package printing press featuring a 330mm (13in) print width combined with a print speed of up to 78 linear m/min (245ft/min) at 1200 x 1200 DPI printing resolution. The press achieves a production capacity of 1,485 sqm per hour, with eight color stations (CMYK+W+OVG) with new designed high pigmented inks allowing claimed flexo look-like print quality with close to 98 percent Pantone color gamut coverage.

Durst recently named The Label Makers in the UK as the first beta site customer for the digital label press.

The Tau 330 RSC is available as stand-alone version or can be combined with the LFS 330 in-line digital laser die-cutting system. And at Labelexpo Europe 2017, the Tau 330 RSC will be shown configured as a ‘hybrid’ press featuring Omet XFlex X6 conventional finishing options, positioned in-line.

Durst first showed the integration of Omet XFlex X6 modules at Labelexpo Americas 2016, with a Tau 330 inkjet press configured for near-line pre- and post-press finishing.

Also showcased will be the Tau 330 with low migration ink for primary food and pharma packaging, as well as the entry-level Tau 330E with specially developed high pigmented UV inkjet inks. The press will be demonstrated with the EFS 330 converting and finishing system from Smag.

Further, Durst is to introduce its Web2Print option for online design, preview and ordering of all kinds of packaging products, such as labels and folding cartons. This be shown alongside the Durst Workflow-Label Application Suite, modular, expandable pre-press software for order entry, pre-press, RIP, color management, ink costing and production data management.
