At Labelexpo Americas 2008, Lake Image Systems will partner with Domino Amjet to demonstrate its latest technology for label data verification. The Lake Image Systems IntegraScan camera-based verification system will be running live on a narrow web flexo press to continuously check barcode legibility and human readability at press speeds.

The IntegraScan camera will be mounted on the press, and will image the entire label being printed. It is capable of operating at speeds as high as 90,000 labels per hour, with 100 percent data integrity inspection. Inputs are provided to machine controls which mark faulty label images, stop the press, and/or alert the operator based on a user-definable number of errors. Using the IntegraScan, label printers can automatically identify integrity errors without inspection labor expense, while creating production reports to comply with service level agreement contracts.

Lake Image Systems vice-president Pat Hoskins said: ‘The Lake Image Systems IntegraScan reduces the label printer’s risk associated with high integrity labels while reducing labor expense associated with manual inspection and reconciliation.’
