Magpowr to show new tension control at Labelexpo

Posted in New Products on August 04, 2010

Magpowr, a manufacturer of web tension and torque control equipment, will show the new Spyder Plus for load cell tension control systems and dancer applications on stand 829 at Labelexpo Americas.

The Spyder Plus is a control for brakes, clutches or drives. It can be mounted remotely and integrated with an existing PLC or remote PC. A basic LCD readout and user-friendly keypad allows local control over simple tuning, adjustable taper tension and security lockout without special training.

Spyder Plus also has features for dancer applications. Dancer mode provides the ability to use load cells to monitor web tension, while remote setpoint adjustment improves efficiency, especially when multiple controls are used in the same application. Spyder Plus also works with third party ultrasonic or laser sensors to determine roll diameter.
