Martin Automatic to launch compact slicer at Labelexpo

Posted in New Products on June 29, 2009

The new MLS Automatic Splicer will make its European debut at Labelexpo in Brussels on the Martin Automatic stand K90, in Hall 7. The MLS is a compact lap splicer for non-stop unwinding at full press speed and is suited to mid-web press laminating applications and to introducing additional webs to a process. It is designed to mount above the printing units of new or existing web presses or at a right angle to a press line. When combined with other Martin Automatic splicing and rewinding equipment, the MLS is claimed to offer converters increased productivity and reduced waste by eliminating production interruptions caused by manual roll changes.

‘The MLS is our response to numerous requests for a mid-web press splicer and is an ergonomic solution that operators find particularly user friendly,’ said David Wright, vice president of sales and marketing. ‘The accurate tension control is particularly appreciated in laminating applications, and one user, a leading international company, reports significant improvements in production efficiency.’

Visitors to Labelexpo will also be able to see an MBS butt splicer and an LRD rewinder on the Martin stand.
