Mica launches film matte coating

Posted in New Products on July 26, 2010

Mica Corporation has launched a water borne matte coating for films. Aimed at increasing both scuff resistance and shelf appeal, it can be applied by most typical printing and coating operations.

T-605-C is a single-pass, two-part aqueous matte coating that can be used on most plastic film. It can withstand heat seal temperatures up to 350 deg F (150 deg C). When properly applied the coating is scuff resistant, heat resistant (above 121 deg C) and has a 60 degree gloss of about 10 units.
