PGM will soon launch a new product application with its EDM200 UV flexo over printing machine from SMO in Germany: the EDM200-BJ in-line 1-color UV flexo machine combined with Atlantic Zeiser’s BrailleJet printing system. The machine is claimed to offer all the benefits of the a short run machine for both conventional UV flexo printing and Braille printing, using UV-curable special ink for the digitally printed Marburg Braille letters.

The EDM200 is a semi-rotary, variable repeat 1-color UV flexo machine, meaning no format change tools are required when changing job repeat length. It can work with self-adhesive substrates as well as paper and light board, thus able to produce labels, tickets and tags, which are pre-die-cut and/or pre-printed. The machine can also work in fully rotary mode.

BrailleJet, a printing system for Braille, the touchable font for blind people, offers personalization and encoding to the packaging industry and pharmaceutical market. New micro valve technology enables Braille fonts to be printed using UV curable high-viscosity ink to achieve immediate fixation of the dots.
