Rutherford Graphic Products is to launch ExactLoop

When used with X-Rite’s eXact Scan spectrophotometer, ExactLoop improves pressroom productivity, Rutherford Graphic Products said, enabling faster make-ready and ‘empowering users to print to GRACoL, G7 or ISO standards with ease and confidence’.

The X-Rite eXact Scan product, introduced earlier this year, extends the functionality of the X-Rite eXact spectrophotometer platform. The eXact Scan option extends the instrument’s ability to accurately read conventional and non-continuous strips for quality assurance applications, such as flexo printing for packaging, as well as being suitable for offset litho printers that have large capital investments in older presses that aren’t equipped with in-line color measurement capabilities

In addition, eXact Scan can transfer data to an application such as Microsoft Excel for further analysis and reporting, and integrate with the new 2.5 release of ColorCert: X-Rite Edition.

Rutherford Graphic Products said eXact Scan simplifies the regular monitoring of press runs by measuring color bars press-side. The result is fast and highly accurate density and spectral measurement data that gets sent to the ExactLoop interface. In turn, ExactLoop can make automatic adjustment to the ink keys on press, leading to predictable, repeatable color.

Jay Rutherford, president of Rutherford Graphic Products, said: ‘The combination of eXact Scan’s easy-to-use scanning features with ExactLoop makes digitally-driven, closed-loop color control an affordable reality for printers of all sizes and budgets.

‘Bringing these two technologies together allows for a smooth-running, advanced color-control solution that is integrated, regardless of the model of press or the prepress workflow that is in place.’
