Tech Cell unveils anilox screen development

UK-based Tech Cell has developed a new anilox screen configuration called Emerald Plus, an upgrade on its original Emerald cell configuration designed to give high volume release for the UV label, wide web tissue and corrugated markets.

The development uses Tech Cell’s own laser technology to advance the cell ink release, allowing an additional 10 percent release on the standard Emerald screen. Printers can therefore increase line counts to up to 2000 LPI while still maintaining high ink release.

Meanwhile, the company has also achieved a milestone in the supply of its Opal cell rollers. Tech Cell recently sold its 2,000throller for the offset coating and UV flexo industry, using its Opal engraving method. Introduced to the market in 2004, Opal says it now counts many of the leading press manufacturers among its customers.

The Opal cell structure is designed to give improved laydown over conventional screen designs and has achieved success in the label industry for UV opaque white applications, says the company.
