X-Rite introduces new models of SpectroEye color measurement solution

X-Rite, Incorporated, provider of color measurement and management solutions, has announced enhancements to increase the functionality and performance of the SpectroEye color measurement tool. To complement the SpectroEye standard model with an aperture of 4.5 mm, which measures control bars with a patch size of 5mm or larger, the SpectroEye SA (Small Aperture) utilizes an aperture of 3.2mm and is used to measure smaller patch sizes, down to 3.5mm.

Both SpectroEye models are now also available as an entry-level SpectroEye LT version. This version supports the main functions required for process control at the press by supporting all the densitometric functions from density to trapping, as well as the CIE L*a*b* function. At any time, the functionality can easily be upgraded to the Basic version or to any other available functions by purchasing a downloadable license key. All SpectroEye versions offer exceptional measurement accuracy combined with all colorimetric functions necessary to control special colors and all densitometric functions needed to quickly and easily monitor and control color on press.

The SpectroEye spectrophotometer combines ‘exceptional’ color measurement accuracy with maximum ease of use, says the company. Features include extendable measuring heads for exact positioning and stability, an integrated white reference tile for automatic calibration, high-resolution graphic displays for easy viewing, and ring illumination for positioning orientation independent measurements. SpectroEye is fully integrated with X-Rite hardware and software, including IntelliTrax, NetProfiler, ColorQuality, InkFormulation, KeyWizard and CxF Loader. The SpectroEye also supports the current ISO Standard CIE L*a*b* values. Without any additional training, a printer can work using known, trusted density values, while the pass/fail indicator is given as color measurements conforming to the Process Standard and the ISO standard. Additionally the user can utilize the Best Match function to determine whether modifying the ink film thickness or adding transparent white will achieve a sufficiently accurate match with the reference color. This translates into a savings of both time and money due to rapid assessment of the color quality.
