Turkish label printer Canpas invests in Xeikon 3000
Turkish label converter Canpas has invested in a Xeikon 3000 digital printing press. The Istanbul-based company turned to the digital technology after its annual productivity surpassed 14 million square meters using 11 conventional label presses.
'With digital technology advancing rapidly, the time was right to invest in a digital solution that could deliver the quality and flexibility that our customers expect,' said Aydin Okay, president of Canpas, chairman of Turkish label printing association EDS and member of the FINAT board. 'The Xeikon 3000 ticks all the right boxes. It is the ideal system in terms of print quality, variable data handling and enhanced turnaround times. We've no doubt that our investment will enable us to offer even better quality services and attract new business.'
The Xeikon 3000 offers 1200dpi at four bits per spot. It includes five color stations – four for the standard process colors and the fifth color station for white or spot colors. The spot colors can be used for gamut expansion or for producing specific brand colors. The fifth color station can also be used for printing on transparent films using Xeikon's one-pass opaque white toner, and for security printing using Xeikon's special security toner. Operating on the Xeikon Form Adapted (FA) toner, the Xeikon 3000 is FDA-approved for use in certain food contact applications.
Christos Anastasiou, managing director at Punch Graphix SE Europe, commented: 'Canpas has an excellent reputation in Europe, and Mr Okay is highly respected in the international label community, so it's a great endorsement for the Xeikon 3000 that the company chose to invest in the system. In conjunction with Ertan IPEK/SIGMA – which was instrumental in making the deal happen – we look forward to building a successful working relationship with Canpas.'
