X-Rite and Alwan launch automated ISO standardization solution

Posted in New Products on 13th March 2009

X-Rite and Alwan Color Expertise have joined forces to develop Print Standardizer, an automated press quality control and ISO 12647 standardization solution. Developed to address the graphic industry's growing need for standards compliance, it aims to provide an 'out-of-the-box' ISO 12647 standardization solution for analog and digital presses.

Featuring award-winning technologies from Alwan, X-Rite and its subsidiary Pantone, Print Standardizer includes: Alwan's PDF and print standardization software CMYK Optimizer; the new Pantone Goe digital libraries, featuring 2,058 new colors; and Intellitrax, X-Rite's automated color management scanning solution for press-side color control.

The intuitive software and wizards allow users of any skill level to set printing standards and corresponding queue settings and achieve instant workflow compliance with ISO 12647 requirements. With Print Standardizer, users can match any ISO standard printing condition including Fogra 39, GRACoL and SWOP on each and every job. The new solution allows printers to reduce print preparation time and dramatically cut waste paper and ink consumption, increasing overall profitability.

'By combining our industry expertise and technologies, we have created a truly groundbreaking ISO standardization solution that removes many of the cost and implementation barriers printing professionals typically encounter during the ISO 12647 implementation process,' commented Helmut Eifert, X-Rite's vice president of channel sales EMEA. 'With Print Standardizer, printers will be able faithfully reproduce their clients' colors, each time and every time, while minimizing waste and lowering their overall operating expenses.'

'We believe that the strategic collaboration with X-Rite resulting in the development of Print Standardizer will give printers, especially small and medium-sized print houses, the breath of fresh air they need in an increasingly competitive environment,' said Elie Khoury, president of Alwan Color Expertise. 'Including installation and training, Print Standardizer is a complete packaged solution, positioned at a reasonable price for a full return-on-investment within two to six months, even in a small print shop. We know that printers are increasingly incorporating industry standards and automation into their workflows and together with X-Rite, we are taking a leading role in providing a solution to address them.'

Unveiled recently at Intergraphic in Paris, France, Print Standardizer is available immediately from X-Rite and Alwan Color Expertise's European network of resellers.
