GSE has received high levels of interest from label and packaging converters at Labelexpo Europe 2025, where it exhibited new ink dispensers and management software for waste reduction, digitalization through ink data collection and quality assurance.

The Netherlands-based company demonstrated equipment under the theme 'Where ink meets intelligence,' showcasing how automation and data integration in ink workflows deliver consistent color quality while supporting faster, more sustainable production.

GSE launched the industrial Colorsat FCS (Formula Checkweigh System), a robust, space-saving semi-automatic dispenser designed for occasional spot-color jobs. The system calculates and scales ink recipes to required batch sizes while guiding operators through controlled, precision weighing processes.

'The new version of the FCS resonated with SME converters because it offers an affordable entry into professional ink management,' noted Maarten Hummelen, marketing director at GSE. 'Its optional Ink manager software modules not only streamline color preparation, but can also connect with MIS systems and formulation software, for recipe data on-demand, traceability and inventory management.'

The company also exhibited the Colorsat Switch dispenser for label printing and the Colorsat Solo for clean dispensing of single-ingredient inks including process colors, coatings and whites directly from storage drums or IBCs. All GSE dispensers feature modular, exchangeable parts ensuring extendibility and easy adaptation to new ink sets.

GSE received strong demand for dispensing systems requiring short-notice installation, indicating buoyant order books and flexo printers' strengthened commitment to spot color printing for stability and consistency.

The company highlighted its Ink manager (GIm) software suite, capable of tracking inks through non-linear routes involving mixing and reuse of leftovers in new jobs. The system automates purchasing, recipe adjustment, inventory management, dispensing, press-return reuse and ink batch traceability.

GSE premiered an augmented reality app within its Virtual Showroom that helps converters visualize how dispensing hardware integrates into operations. The tablet-based tool allows users to position, rotate, scale and examine equipment internals, making complex workflows easier to understand.

'Printers often use only a fraction of the software's capability today,' commented Hummelen. 'But awareness is growing that digital integration isn't a distant vision. With our modular product and software architecture, automation and digitization can occur incrementally.'

Fujifilm has launched the FleneX Pro processor at Labelexpo Europe 2025, introducing what it describes as a completely new concept in flexo plate processing designed to challenge conventional workflows and enable greater production efficiency.

The company showcases its portfolio of analogue and digital innovations from stand 5D73, with the exhibition space divided into clearly defined zones for product demonstrations and customer interactions. The FleneX Pro debut is accompanied by two new flexo plate developments: FleneX Midori, optimized for LED exposure and offering detailed reproduction up to 200lpi with a 1 percent process dot, and FleneX Pure, a filtration system for modern plate processing requirements.

Fujifilm also presents its latest LED curing system, LuXtreme Pro, alongside the new CuremaX ink range featuring advanced curing technology developed for demanding flexo production environments.

On the digital side, the company has enhanced its flagship Jet Press FP790 digital flexible packaging press with extended compatibility for label applications. The press now supports faster throughput, a broader range of sustainable substrates and new practical applications.

The Revoria Press SC285 digital press showcases pre-made pouch printing, offering brands and converters a high-speed, high-quality approach for short-run, digitally printed pouch production.

UV specialist Dr Hönle is uniting its group of companies under one brand. The subsidiaries as well as the parent company are renamed Hoenle. This step reflects the strategic development of the group and brings clarity to international activities.

Hoenle has been the parent company of a group of various industrial UV and adhesives specialists for many years. With the customer and its individual application in focus, the subsidiaries have been organized in three business units since 2023: curing, disinfection and adhesive systems.

Today marks the unification of the group under one corporate brand, along with a new corporate design and a new website. This change will bring the group’s legacy of expertise under one roof and contributes to the company’s global strategic evolution with the customer in focus.

Excelitas has expanded its portfolio to offer customers the full spectrum of UV curing and IR drying applications for labels and packaging, positioning itself as a single-source provider at Labelexpo Europe 2025 in Barcelona.

AVT has announced a significant reduction in spare parts prices for its print inspection systems, marking one of its first moves since becoming a standalone business under new ownership. This move responds directly to customer feedback across the label and flexible packaging industries.

The permanent price cuts mark a pivotal shift for Advanced Vision Technology, which separated from Esko earlier this year to re-establish itself as an independent company. The move follows voice of customer research conducted across AVT's global user community to identify areas where it could provide the most benefit.

'We are proud to announce a significant and permanent reduction in the prices of our spare parts,' stated Roy Porat, CEO of AVT. 'This move marks a pivotal moment in the journey of AVT as an independent company. It is this independence that has enabled us to reduce prices while maintaining the top-of-the-line quality and service of print inspection equipment we deliver to our customers.

The CEO clarified that the pricing change represents a permanent strategic shift rather than a temporary promotion. 'Importantly, this is not just a promotion, or a campaign offering a limited-time discount,' Porat noted. 'This is a totally new direction for AVT. The spare parts pricing shift is part of a broader transformation at AVT as we focus on building a customer-centric future.'

The broader transformation encompasses investments in connectivity and AI-driven analytics to maximize uptime and minimize unplanned downtime, expanded customer success programs for more proactive support, and increased transparency in customer interactions.

'Our mission is simple,' Porat commented. 'It is to help customers maximize efficiency, profitability and trust in AVT as a long-term partner, and lower spare parts pricing is one important step on that journey.'

Martin Automatic is showcasing two of its MBS automatic unwind splicers at Labelexpo Europe 2025, anchoring the start of a fully automated production line that stretches across four collaborating booths.

After a successful debut at Labelexpo Americas 2024, the line is now being seen in Europe for the first time in Barcelona.

Located at booth 4D37, Martin Automatic highlights two configurations of its MBS butt splicer, both feeding webs non-stop into an ETI Cohesio laminator. The first unwinder features the standard MBS layout, while the second features a 90-degree turn bar that shortens the in-line footprint, an innovation especially valuable for space-constrained pressrooms. Both MBSs can handle rolls up to 26in (660mm) in diameter and can run at speeds up to 250 m/min (820 ft/min) for the standard configuration and 152 m/min (500 ft/min) with the turn bar configuration.

LemuGroup continues its global expansion with the integration of Converting Equipment International (CEI), a US company located in Montana, next to Glacier National Park. This move strengthens the group's presence in the North American market, a key step in providing direct and personalized support to US customers and expanding LemuGroup's portfolio.

'Converters need partners who can respond quickly and deliver complete solutions,' said Simon Gross, spokesperson for CEI. 'This alliance with LemuGroup gives our North American customers faster access to global technology while opening new doors for CEI equipment and expertise abroad.'

The new plant manufactures inspection, cutting and rewinding machines, as well as other high-speed equipment such as RFID insertion and programming, die cutters, digital finishers and hybrid presses. This equipment is designed for sectors such as food and beverage, packaging, health care, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, renewable energy and digital applications.

One of the most notable developments is the CEI BossJet equipped with digital technology. This system integrates digital inkjet printing with high-quality embellishment, conversion and finishing processes in a single pass. The result is greater productivity, lower operating costs and a fast return on investment on the market, suitable for short and medium runs.

With this move, LemuGroup increases its production capacity and technological synergies. The company now has greater knowledge and insight into the North American market and is generating ideas and approaches that can be transferred and adapted to other markets.

'Our goal is to build lasting partnerships that help converters compete worldwide,' said Iñaki Larrea, spokesperson for LemuGroup.
