Kodak showcases packaging solution portfolio

Kodak had its ‘concept to consumer’ theme on show at last month’s Labelexpo Europe 2011, with a series of technologies being demonstrated over the four-day tradeshow.
This included the Flexcel NX system with the Kodak Spotless Flexographic Solution that can accurately predict spot colors on press and the Design2Launch Brand Manager for managing workflow assets.
Kodak said the Spotless Flexographic Solution software and measurement device package helps flexographic trade service providers and printers maintain product package appearance, cut costs and increase production efficiency through the reduced use of spot colors. Design2Launch Brand Manager is a web-based solution that provides end users with process management tools that can boost operational efficiency, increase speed-to-market and improve brand consistency over multi-channel marketing and packaging assets, Kodak said.
There was also a special focus on brand protection and how to add advanced security measures, such as with the newly announced Kodak Traceless AD System for anti-diversion, which combines an invisible ink and proprietary detection system to help brands track products and prevent the creation of illegitimate distribution channels and unauthorized resellers.
David Croft, Kodak’s packaging segment manager, said: ‘Kodak wants to help share knowledge and assist customers in what they do, not simply ‘talk about products’ but give real life feedback on the issues that customers face, how they have been overcome and how this has benefited their business.’
