Screen sells first Truepress into Germany
At Labelexpo Europe 2019, Screen has sold its first Trupress into Germany. The installation, which will take place at the end of this year, is to help the local converter in expanding its offering in the food label sector.

Jürgen Schäfer, CEO of Papier Schäfer, said: ‘The time has come for us to invest in the future. The ability to offer labels for the food industry with indirect food contact, in combination with the industry leading speeds of up to 60 meters per minute, means investing in the L350UV+LM is an obvious choice to expand our capacity.’
The press enables the reproduction of a wider color gamut, including a greater range of oranges, which the converter intends to fully exploit with the production of eye-catching labels with high scratch resistance. Screen’s machine has been also designed to produce labels compliant with the food safety standards by using low migration inks.
‘With over half a century’s industry experience, we need to meet the ever-increasing demands of our customers and that requires quality with the quickest turnaround times. As such, it’s imperative that we continue to invest in solutions that ensure we remain at the forefront of the label market. The L350UV+LM will enable us to do just that by expanding our remit into the food label segment,’ concluded Schäfer.
Steven Polland, area sales manager for Germany, added: ‘We are delighted that Papier Schäfer has identified Screen’s market-leading technology as a vital part of its business moving forward. This is a testament to our technology and our strength in Germany and we hope this will be the first of many L350UV+LM machines in the country – having already sold two in the DACH region. The Truepress Jet L350UV+LM is fast becoming the standard for the food label sector.’
