The MK1450ER can be used with an extensive range of carton board, from 0.1-2mm (90-2,000gsm) and will handle corrugated board up to 5mm thick.

The machine can die-cut up to 1,450 x 1,050mm with an accuracy of ±0.15mm and provides a maximum die-cutting force of 600 metric tons. The non-stop feeder precisely controls stock taken from the pile, which can be as high as 1,600mm, and ensures that sheets are presented into the die-cutting unit in exactly the right position.

In addition, a new gripper registration design used in the die-cutter has improved throughput speed and the stability of stock as it moves through the unit. The cutting chase has a pneumatic bi-directional locking device while the lower supporting plate also has a pneumatic lock up system.

The maximum delivery pile height is 1,350mm and the delivery section can collect finished products or whole sheets. If required, jobs can be split into batches, which can be pre-set at the start of the run.

Masterwork Graphic Equipment European sales manager Ken Farnsworth said: ‘All Masterwork equipment incorporates sophisticated automation, which enables the high levels of throughput for which our models are renowned around the world. For instance, the MK1450ER has a top speed of 5,000sph. What’s also important to remember is that this is achieved with only one operator, who is able to control the machine via an easy to use color touchscreen.’

Farnsworth added: ‘Masterwork’s factory in Tianjin is one of the most modern plants in the world for the manufacture of post-press equipment, and the products launched over the last few years have really pushed forward the boundaries of what can be achieved in terms of versatility, registration accuracy and sheer productivity.’

At Ipex 2014, taking place on March 24-29 at ExCeL in London, Masterwork Graphic Equipment will be launching into Europe the MK420Q MINI carton inspection system, which provides 100 percent continuous inspection, 24 hours a day.

To coincide with the exhibition, Masterwork will be running demonstrations at its Wakefield factory of the new high-speed MK1060MF die-cutter.
