Metsä Board celebrating six decades in China

Metsä Board is celebrating 60 years of trading in China in November 2013.

This marks the anniversary of its first sales representative being appointed in Beijing in 1953, although the first exports were made as early as the 1920s.

Metsä Board currently has two sales offices in China - one in Hong Kong opened 1986 and another in Shanghai opened 2001.

Mikko Helander (pictured, top), chief executive officer of Metsä Board, said: ‘China is an important market for us so we are delighted to be marking this anniversary together with our customers and partners there.

‘We anticipate increasing sales of both folding boxboards and linerboards in China, as well as in other countries in the APAC region.’
