Bobst brings Digital Flexo to Labelexpo Americas 2016

Bobst is to use Labelexpo Americas 2016 to further promote Digital Flexo technology, with an M6 mid web, in-line UV flexo press to be at the heart of its presence at the show in September.

Digital Flexo forms part of the Bobst Digital Automation program. Using new low migration UV curable inks and extensive automation, Bobst said it can match set-up times found in digital printing. The press can run non-stop with on-the fly job changes, creating less than 10m of substrate waste and taking only one minute to set up.

Digital Flexo utilizes the 7-color extended gamut (ECG) technology promoted by the Revo Team of industry partners, which takes in consumables, software and hardware technologies.

The Revo Team includes  Americk Packaging (packaging printing and converting), Apex International (anilox rollers), AVT (quality inspection systems), DuPont (flexographic printing plates), Esko (pre-press systems for packaging), Flint Group (UV, solvent- and water-based inks), X-Rite/Pantone (color measurement and standardization systems), UPM Raflatac (substrates) and Bobst (printing and converting presses).

Visitors to the Bobst stand at Labelexpo Americas 2016 will also be introduced to the new MW 85F CI flexo press, printing at line screens up to 70 lines/cm, and the CL 750D compact laminator, which are especially suited for converters looking for efficiency in short run production. Bobst silicone and adhesive coating products and vacuum metallizing technology for the labelstock industry will also be showcased.

An M6 press showcasing Digital Flexo was a large part of Bobst’s showing at drupa 2016 earlier this year, as reported here.

Labelexpo Americas 2016 runs September 13-15 in Rosemont, Illinois.
