Moldavian printer extends digital print capacity with HP Indigo WS6800

FlexLabel, the first label printer in Moldova to adopt digital printing, has installed its second HP Indigo press, with a WS6800 model joining its existing 4500.

Moldova-based printer FlexLabel has added an HP Indigo WS6800 on top of the country's first digital press, an HP Indigo 4500

FlexLabel primarily supports the local and exported wine label industry, while additionally printing labels for both the food and cosmetics industries. It was the first label converter to adopt digital printing in the Republic of Moldova with the installation of an HP Indigo 4500 in 2014. The new press was installed in January this year.

Following years of growth and expansion said to have resulted from its first digital press installation, FlexLabel will increase its speed and productivity with the HP Indigo 6800 for labels, while also expanding into flexible packaging.

FlexLabel CEO Serghei Sapojnic said: ‘As the company continues to grow at a fast pace, we need the ability to grow our productivity and ease of production.

‘When searching for an additional digital press, we based our decision on the trends we’re seeing in the market, such as the increase in short-term orders and the requests for faster turnaround times.  Especially in the wine business, we are seeing a rapid and versatile proliferation of SKUs which simply demand these capabilities. The HP Indigo WS6800 helps us deliver for these increasingly important market needs.’
