Avery Dennison launches new film topcoat

Avery Dennison Label and Packaging Materials has launched TC-2000, a new film topcoat that offers clearer, stronger colors and bolder graphics.

The new film is designed to deliver consistent performance across water-based flexo, UV flexo, UV screen, UV inkjet, solvent gravure and letterpress enabling greater flexibility and quality output.

Comparing to the popular TC-1000, the new version offers an improved ink anchorage and profit margins by eliminating the need to corona treat or prime in UV print platforms. It creates a strong bond between ink and film, allowing the use of heavier inks for sharper and bolder images.

‘TC-2000 is the result of the extensive global research and development and investment in material science -- hallmarks of Avery Dennison’s commitment to excellence,’ said Cory Keller, senior digital product manager at Avery Dennison. ‘As new printing technologies come of age, it is our goal to help converters and brand owners take advantage of the benefits they afford while remaining committed to compatibility with existing technologies.’
