Xeikon reports ‘extremely successful’ Labelexpo Americas

Xeikon has reported that this year’s Labelexpo Americas proved to be an ‘extremely successful event’ for the company.

At the laser die-cutting workshop, Xeikon’s Vectorizor was on show, an automatic die-cut generator that heightens communication with laser die-cutting devices. Vectorizor’s functionalities create new opportunities to further automate label production and increase productivity.  

Also new at the show was Xeikon’s Durable Clear Toner, which acts as a digital spot varnish for folding cartons and enables inline production of short run folding carton planes that are ready to be folded and glued. Durable Clear Toner is printed and fused just like any other color in the Xeikon 3000 Series of digital label presses.

An extra curing step outside of the press transforms this clear layer of toner into a protective layer of varnish. The varnish can be printed digitally, leaving the flexibility to keep certain areas on the package open for glue strips and code markings to be applied later. While other digital printing systems have to rely on a separate and cumbersome traditional spot varnish step, the Durable Clear Toner can significantly simplify the production process of folding carton planes, says the company.

In addition to the Xeikon 3000 Series of digital label presses, which were prominently displayed at our booth as well as the Package Printing Zone, the show also marked the first North American demonstration of our ThermoFlexX platemaking solution for the flexo and letterpresses markets.

‘During the show, we met many new converters and sold more than we anticipated in both the North and South American markets. All in all, we had a very successful event and are eagerly looking forward to next year’s Labelexpo in Brussels.’
