CGS Publishing Technologies has partnered with Color-Logic to streamline the design and prototyping of folding cartons.

The partnership has been agreed to help brand and product managers use the new CGS RealVue 3D Packager software to determine how their carton design will appear before going to press, said Color-Logic’s director of sales and marketing Mark Geeves.

At Drupa 2012, which took place earlier this month, CGS and Color-Logic demonstrated the results of their recent technology partnership: the integration of Color-Logic’s Process Metallic Color System with both RealVue 3D Packager and the ORIS color prototyping environment. At the show, the two companies demonstrated the products’ success in reproducing difficult metallic colors and special effects – both in virtual 3D simulations and in hard copy prototypes.

Geeves said: ‘Color-Logic and CGS have cooperated fully to ensure that brand and product managers – as well as their graphic designers and print providers – can confidently use the new CGS RealVue 3D Packager to confidently determine how their carton design will appear before going to press.

‘This reduces trial and error in package creation, as well as the time required to bring products to market.  At drupa 2012, the international printing exhibition in Dusseldorf, Germany, CGS demonstrated their new visualization tools which dynamically simulate the Color-Logic decorative effects on cartons.’
