Due to the growing number of customers in Eastern Europe and recognizing its potential for growth and innovation, Screen has appointed Daria Obłój as regional sales manager for Eastern Europe.

As sales manager for Eastern Europe, Obłój is eager to leverage Screen's technology to modernize the Polish printing market. Her primary goal is to enhance the company’s visibility in the region, showcasing how the advanced digital inkjet technologies can optimize or replace traditional analogue printing equipment in various production workflows, ensuring local businesses remain competitive on national and international markets.

INX earns Great Place to Work recertification

For the second consecutive year, INX International has been recognized for having one of the best workplace cultures in the US. INX earned recertification from the Great Place to Work organization when its employee satisfaction ratings improved in the past year, keeping it far above the average score of the companies in the country.

Large increases were achieved in five important categories starting with communication, which improved by six points from 61 to 67 precent. Four areas which experienced respective five-point increases included: support (69 percent); equity (63 percent); collaboration (62 percent) and impartiality (59 percent).

These gains are attributed to several initiatives implemented in the past year, ranging from a strong emphasis on transparent communication by leadership, to having feedback mechanisms in place which allow employees to feel more informed and connected.

Bryce Kristo, INX president and CEO, believes these efforts have helped foster a strong work environment and are having an impressive impact on new employee recruitment efforts.

‘This achievement is a testament to the strong, collaborative, and caring culture we have built together,’ said Kristo. ‘Our success is truly a reflection of the collective efforts made by our employees, and this recertification represents the progress we’ve made by raising the bar. Schreiner Group has appointed Ken Forlenza as the new president of its US site in Blauvelt, New York. Forlenza brings a background in engineering, business development and leadership to Schreiner Group’s US operations.

'With our expected expansion into new markets, attracting top talent and investing in staff development will be critical to success,' Forlenza said.

Forlenza sees major growth potential in the pharma, automotive and industrial sectors, where Schreiner Group’s technologies have been established for decades.

'There’s a deep sense of pride here, and everyone is committed to long-term success,' Forlenza shared.

His experience in the specialty chemicals industry, particularly adhesives, aligns well with Schreiner Group’s core product offerings.

He started at Schreiner Group a few weeks ago.

'The local team has been incredibly supportive,' he said. 'I even had the chance to run my first label on the production press, and I plan to frame it as a keepsake.'

Carl Joachim, co-founder of ePac Flexible Packaging and printing industry veteran, has been inducted into the prestigious Ben Franklin Honor Society, recognizing his decades of leadership in digital printing technology, marketing innovation and his transformative role in the packaging industry.

Joachim’s contributions to the founding and growth of ePac Flexible Packaging have enabled small-and medium-sized businesses (SMB) to compete on a global scale by leveraging digital printing technology.

Carl's career began long before ePac's inception, rooted in decades of developing markets for digital technologies at Xerox, Ocè, and Ricoh. His vision materialized in 2016 when he co-founded ePac through a collaborative effort with California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo and Jack Knott, also an ePac co-founder and CEO (retired).

The goal was clear: to create a packaging company that could serve SMBs in ways traditional converters could not, offering short-run, quick-turn flexible packaging solutions at scale.

Today, ePac boasts 22 locations globally, each embodying the mission Joachim helped establish—to empower SMBs to compete against global brands by providing them with access to high-quality, digitally printed packaging.

Reflecting on his time in the industry, Joachim said: ‘It’s an honor to be recognized for the small role I had in the digitization of printing, culminating in the creation of ePac, the world’s first all-digital flexible packaging company. It’s been heartwarming to see the thousands of brands we’ve worked with over the years achieve success, knowing we helped them along the way.’

California Polytechnic professor emeritus, Dr Harvey Levenson, commented: ‘I nominated Carl for induction into the Ben Franklin Honor Society for his intellectual and practical contributions to the greater world of digital printing and packaging. It was exciting to work with him and Jack as they charted the way forward for digital packaging.’

A key milestone in Joachim's career was his development of the digital platform that forms the foundation for ePac's ‘WHY’—the company’s driving philosophy to make a difference for both customers and communities. This platform not only revolutionized how packaging is produced but has also empowered SMBs to scale up quickly with access to flexible packaging that is both affordable and eco-friendly.

Under the guidance of ePac’s three co-founders: Jack Knott, Virag Patel (current ePac CEO), and Carl Joachim, ePac has become a disruptive force in the industry, focusing on creating tools that give smaller brands the same advantages as global giants.

After 40 years of innovation and leadership, Carl recently stepped into retirement, leaving behind a legacy marked by the dedication of ePac’s Austin, Texas facility, one of the company’s flagship plants.

‘Our Austin facility holds a special place in my heart,’ said Joachim. ‘I live in Austin and it represents ePac's commitment to making a meaningful impact, not just for our customers but for the community and our people.’

Billy Adams has been promoted to vice president, operations at GEW Inc. and joins GEW’s senior management team. Adams has served GEW and the wider printing industry for more than 22 years.

Adams joined GEW Inc. in 2002, and most recently worked as service manager.

Adams originally qualified in Avionics and served with the US Marine Corps prior to joining GEW. Since joining the company, he has achieved qualifications in subjects including service and electronics, commercial driving and crane operation.

In his new role at GEW, he is responsible for overseeing the service and spares teams at GEW Inc., primarily for the US and Canada, while also providing support to GEW’s distributors and customers in Latin America, as required.

Adams said: 'Our mission is to further support GEW’s customers across the entire territory, to provide exceptional products and to support this with the lightning-fast service support that they need and have come to expect.'

He concluded: 'On a more personal note, I would like to thank all of my colleagues at GEW. Cotton, who is based in the UK, will assume his new position at the beginning of October, and be responsible for the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia markets.

Adil Kabel and Tommy Segelberg have joined Fujifilm’s European packaging team as the company strengthens its commitment to meeting the surging demand for innovative packaging solutions across the continent.

Adil Kabel, who take son responsibility of sales manager for packaging in Benelux has an extensive knowledge of Fujifilm's product portfolio. This move reflects Fujifilm's dedication to providing comprehensive support and expertise to its customers in the region.

Kabel will support the existing team in Benelux and oversee the packaging activities, ensuring seamless integration of sales and technical expertise to drive packaging growth in the region.

‘I'm looking forward to this new challenge and bringing my extensive product and industry knowledge, and years of experience to help packaging businesses in Benelux,’ commented Kabel.

Tommy Segelberg transitions from his role as business kead for Nordics to assume the position of segment manager for digital packaging in the EMEA region. This shift allows Segelberg to apply his commercial acumen and experience to drive sales, foster key partnerships, and spearhead business development initiatives across the entire EMEA region, focusing especially on Fujifilm’s flagship digital packaging press, the Jet Press FP790.
