Sprite Labels installs i-Jet600 Label from Inkjet Solutions

Beyond the technology, the companies highlighted the strength of their relationship as the key to ongoing success.

Sprite Labels, a specialist manufacturer of custom labels and tags based in Nottingham, has invested in the i-Jet600 Label inkjet system from Inkjet Solutions. The new installation reaffirms the company’s dedication to delivering high-quality, efficient, customized labels for its clients. This investment marks another milestone in the long-standing relationship between Sprite Labels and Inkjet Solutions and reflects a shared ethos of trust, collaboration and customer-centric innovation.

The i-Jet600 Label has a Kyocera print head and offers Sprite Labels enhanced performance and more flexibility. The system supports monochrome print widths from 108mm to 556mm and CMYK widths up to 332mm. With a 600 x 600 DPI resolution and three grey levels, it achieves print speeds of 50 m/min (UV) and 75 m/min (aqueous) and up to 200 m/min when resolution is reduced in the print direction. Designed to retrofit existing printing and converting machinery seamlessly or integrate with new OEM systems, the i-Jet600 Label was installed onto a BGM rewind slitter with a die-cutting press, allowing Sprite Labels to upgrade production capability without replacing core equipment.

'Our decision to invest wasn’t just about equipment,' said Tony Katsouris, managing director at Sprite Labels. 'It was about aligning with the evolving needs of our customers. Over the years, we’ve made targeted investments and add-on equipment to existing presses to stay close to what our clients require – especially around variable data like barcoding and numbering.'

The choice to partner again with Inkjet Solutions was described as straightforward. 'We’d already had a successful experience with John Richardson,' added Katsouris. 'Even when we encountered implementation challenges, John’s printer and engineer experience meant he provided a cost-effective, reliable machine. We’ve had no issues since – just solid, commercial success.'

John Richardson, director at Inkjet Solutions, echoed the value of the partnership. 'The first project we undertook together was a completely new application involving industrial-grade labels for tires. We had to learn fast and adapt to non-standard materials, but the system proved flexible and robust. It’s been a win-win – delivering versatility for Sprite Labels while extending the life of their existing equipment.'

Beyond the technology, the companies highlighted the strength of their relationship as the key to ongoing success. 'For us, trust is everything,' Katsouris emphasized. 'We don’t play the market – we stick with a few trusted suppliers. That’s how we’ve succeeded for more than 40 years. We’ve learned as we’ve progressed, so we can now better advise and support our clients. It’s about building real, respectful relationships.'

Richardson added: 'We share that same approach—long-term support, strong relationships, and providing real value. It's more than technology; it's about being a reliable partner providing ongoing after-sales customer support. We’re also proud to partner with Bar Graphic Machinery on the technology side, delivering comprehensive options together.'

Looking ahead, Sprite Labels remains committed to collaboration. 'We’re happy to demonstrate, test and showcase our system's capabilities to others in the trade,' said Katsouris. 'We see ourselves as part of a broader community. Everyone has something to offer, and we’re always open to helping others succeed.'

This latest investment continues to underscore Sprite Labels’ mission of delivering value through innovation and partnership – giving their clients the tools and confidence to thrive.
